Jordan’s King Abdullah II arrives in Pakistan for two-day official visit

ISLAMABAD: Jordan’s King Abdullah II arrived in Pakistan on Saturday for a two-day official visit, where President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received him at Nur Khan Airbase.

During the visit, King Abdullah II is scheduled to hold talks with both the president and the prime minister, with discussions expected to focus on strengthening political, economic and cultural cooperation between Pakistan and Jordan.

The visit comes shortly after Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir met King Abdullah II in Amman during an official trip to Jordan. Their meeting highlighted the strong diplomatic and defence partnership between the two countries, with both sides reviewing avenues of mutual interest—particularly defence collaboration, security cooperation and regional developments. Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its long-standing ties with Jordan.

Meanwhile, Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari were also present at the airbase to welcome the Jordanian monarch.
