Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns are engaged, with the couple announcing the news on Christmas Day after five years together.
The NBA star proposed following the New York Knicks’ narrow 126–124 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden. Woods and Towns shared the moment in a joint Instagram post, confirming the engagement and offering a glimpse of the intimate rooftop proposal in New York City.
A relationship rooted in friendship
Although they had known each other socially for years, Woods and Towns began dating in 2020 and made their relationship public later that year. Both have previously spoken about how their bond deepened during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In past interviews, Towns has described their transition from friendship to romance as natural, while Woods has said that dating her best friend helped them build trust and emotional stability during some of the most challenging moments of their lives, including the death of Towns’ mother in 2020.
The couple marked their fourth anniversary in 2024, with Woods even writing a song titled Be with You as a tribute to their relationship.
Moving forward after a public past
The engagement also represents a new chapter for Woods following a highly publicised period earlier in her life. In 2019, she was involved in a cheating scandal with Tristan Thompson, which led to a very public fallout with her longtime friend Kylie Jenner.
The situation dominated headlines at the time and resulted in Woods distancing herself from the Kardashian-Jenner circle. In the years since, both Woods and Jenner have confirmed that they have spoken privately and reached a degree of reconciliation, choosing to move forward separately.
Since then, Woods has largely kept her personal life out of the spotlight, while her relationship with Towns has remained steady and largely drama-free.
Looking ahead
Speaking previously about their partnership, Woods has said that friendship, trust and quality time are key to their connection, adding that she makes an effort to attend as many of Towns’ games as possible. Towns has echoed those sentiments, praising Woods’ support and presence in his life both on and off the court.
Now engaged, the couple appear focused on the future, marking a milestone that reflects growth, stability and a clear step forward together.
