New York: The New York Mets and infielder Jorge Polanco have reportedly agreed to a two-year deal, with the fee for the player reportedly set at $40 million.
According to reports, the 32-year-old Polanco played a key role for the Seattle Mariners, helping them reach the American League Championship Series.

The deal marks a major move for the Mets as they strengthen their infield ahead of the upcoming season.
After returning on a one-year deal worth $7.75 million last February following a lackluster 2024 season, Jorge Polanco bounced back in style. Primarily playing as a designated hitter with occasional appearances at second base, he hit 26 home runs and recorded an impressive .821 OPS, marking one of the best offensive seasons of his career.
In October, the 32-year-old Polanco played a key role in the Mariners’ victory over the Detroit Tigers in the American League Division Series, hitting two home runs off ace Tarik Skubal in Game 2.
The Polanco’s teammate Cal Raleigh said, “He’s been carrying this lineup this postseason.”
