Journalist Imran Khan Riaz reportedly arrested again

LAHORE: Journalist Imran Riaz Khan has allegedly been arrested again, according to his brother’s social media post late night on Thursday.

The arrest reportedly took place at his residence in Lahore by individuals in plain clothes, who provided no reason for his arrest.

His arrest was confirmed by fellow journalist and YouTuber Asad Toor, who posted on social media platform X.

This recent incident follows a summon earlier by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Imran Riaz Khan and Asad Toor were called upon regarding their alleged involvement in an online anti-judiciary campaign.

The summons instructed them to appear before the FIA’s Cybercrime Wing on Friday.

The journalist was previously arrested in July 2022 in Islamabad, in response to a complaint filed in Attock.
