LAHORE: Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is set to tie the knot again next month. His upcoming marriage to Shanze, granddaughter of former National Assembly member Sheikh Rohail Asghar, has been confirmed by Asghar himself.

Speaking in a recent interview, Rohail Asghar shared that Shanze and Maryam Nawaz’s younger daughter Mahnoor are close friends, often visiting each other’s homes. He added that through these interactions, Junaid developed a liking for his granddaughter. “One day Maryam Nawaz sent a message saying they wanted to visit. After that, the families met, and the relationship was finalized,” Asghar said.

The wedding celebrations are scheduled to take place on January 16, 17, and 18, with only close friends and family invited.

This will be Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. Earlier, in October 2023, he confirmed his divorce from his first wife, Ayesha Saif, whom he had married in 2021. The initial wedding ceremonies were held at the Lensbar Hotel in London in August 2021, followed by events in Pakistan in December.

Announcing the divorce on Instagram, Junaid had described it as a private matter and requested respect for their privacy. “I hope this decision will bring peace to both of us,” he wrote, adding that he would not comment further. He also extended his best wishes to Ayesha.
