WEB DESK: Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s hilarious ‘advice’ to married men has gone viral on social media.

The veteran actor shared the light-hearted advice during his quiz show “Kaun Banega Crorepati”, or KBC, offering husbands a humorous “formula” for keeping their married lives peaceful.

Amitabh advised husbands to simply admit their mistake whenever their wives are angry or an argument breaks out.

In his witty style, the Bollywood star joked that refusing to accept a mistake or arguing back could result in “shoes, slippers and rolling pins” being thrown their way.

While the remarks were clearly presented as humour about the familiar stereotypes of married life, the idea behind the joke is worth looking at more seriously. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that around 840 million women, or nearly one in three worldwide, have experienced physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner during their lifetime.

Amitabh said the wisest approach for husbands is to avoid an argument and quietly accept their mistake, adding that “silence is the best option” when the wife is angry.

The star also had another piece of advice for husbands, saying they may forget any date in the world, but should never forget their wedding anniversary. That too, he joked, could have consequences.

“A forgotten anniversary could mean anything from shoes and slippers to a rolling pin flying in the husband’s direction,” he said.

He humorously warned that wives often ask, “Do you remember when we got married?” and getting the date wrong could have serious consequences.

The actor’s take on married life has since caught the attention of social media users, with clips of his remarks being widely shared and discussed online.
