Karachi couple held for brutally torturing teenage daughter

KARACHI: The police arrested a couple in Karachi on Sunday for brutally torturing their teenage daughter. The incident came to light after a video of the torture, went viral on social media.

The video shows the stepmother branding the 12-year-old girl’s body with iron rods.

The police said that they took action after the video was brought to their attention. They arrested the couple and registered a case against them on charges of torture and child abuse.

The girl has been shifted to a civil hospital for treatment. She is said to be in a stable condition.
