KARACHI: Firefighters in Karachi battled two separate blazes on Monday, bringing both incidents under control after swift response efforts by the city’s fire brigade. No casualties were reported in either case.
CLOTH WAREHOUSE CATCHES FIRE IN SOHRAB GOTH
The first fire broke out in a cloth warehouse near Insaf Hospital in the Sohrab Goth area. According to officials, two fire brigade vehicles were immediately dispatched to the scene and began extinguishing efforts.
The warehouse, which contained large quantities of old cloth, suffered significant losses as cloth worth several lakhs of rupees was reduced to ashes. The cause of the fire could not be determined. After the flames were put out, the cooling process was completed without any further complications.
FACTORY FIRE AT BHAINS COLONY MOR CONTAINED
In a separate incident, a blaze erupted at a Dhaaga (thread) factory located at Bhains Colony Mor. Six fire brigade vehicles were sent to the site and successfully brought the flames under control.
Initial reports suggest the fire originated due to a short circuit in the factory’s electrical department. Thankfully, no injuries or loss of life occurred. Firefighters are now conducting cooling operations to ensure there is no risk of re-ignition.
AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING CAUSES
While the cause of the Sohrab Goth fire remains unknown, officials have confirmed that the Bhains Colony incident was triggered by an electrical fault. Authorities are continuing their investigations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
