Karachi photographer robbed at gunpoint, loses gadgets worth Rs1.5 million

KARACHI: In yet another distressing incident, a photographer fell victim to an armed robbery in North Nazimabad, Karachi.

The daring criminals managed to escape after plundering a valuable camera and other belongings, the total worth of which is estimated to be more than Rs1 million.

The incident transpired near KDA Chowrangi just yesterday, leading to the prompt registration of a First Information Report (FIR) at the Hyderi Market police station.

According to the victim, the stolen items, including a camera, valuable lens, drone camera, cash, and a mobile phone, are collectively valued at around Rs1.5 million.

Providing a harrowing account of the incident, the affected photographer revealed that the accused brazenly seized the opportunity to snatch valuable equipment and personal belongings.

The details emerging from the General Investigation Report (GIR) shed light on the gravity of the situation, indicating a concerning trend in the city’s rising street crime.

The prevalence of such incidents is far from uncommon in Karachi, and these robberies have unfortunately become a persistent issue for years.

The stolen camera and equipment join a growing list of items targeted by criminals, including mobile phones, cars, bikes, jewellery, and cash snatched at gunpoint in various parts of the city.
