KARACHI: In a nail-biting clash of HBL PSL 10, Karachi Kings defeated Peshawar Zalmi by two wickets, chasing down the target of 148 runs in the final over.
Karachi Kings captain David Warner led from the front with a solid 60-run knock. He was supported by Khushdil Shah who added 23 runs and Mohammad Nabi who chipped in with 14. James Vince made 11, Irfan Khan 10, and Saad Baig contributed 9 runs to the chase.
On the bowling front, Luke Wood claimed three wickets while Ali Raza took two. Alzarri Joseph and Arif Yaqoob grabbed one wicket each to help restrict Zalmi.
Earlier, batting first, Peshawar Zalmi set a 148-run target. Skipper Babar Azam top-scored with 46 runs, while Mohammad Haris made 28 and Alzarri Joseph contributed a handy 24. Hussain Talat scored 18, with Tom Kohler-Cadmore (7), Mitchell Owen (5), and Saim Ayub (4) failing to make an impact.
Karachi’s Abbas Afridi and Khushdil Shah were the pick of the bowlers, taking three wickets apiece to keep Zalmi in check.
