WEB DESK: In a recent development in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Karachi kings franchise have put up two of their oldest players up for auction – Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir. Both these players were offered by Karachi Kings to Quetta Gladiators in exchange of Naseem Shah. However, the deal could not go through.
So for starters, Karachi Kings will have a new captain in the upcoming season. Secondly, Imad Wasim has reportedly moved to Islamabad United. In reverse, Hasan Ali has switched from Islamabad United to Karachi Kings. And rumour has it that Amir will be moving to Quetta Gladiators for the upcoming edition of the PSL.
Hafeez urges focus on domestic cricket for Pakistani players
Yesterday, Mohammad Hafeez, the newly appointed team director for Pakistani team also shared his discussions with both these cricketers. Hafeez said that he reached out to Amir, urging him to consider participating in domestic cricket but Amir refused.
Maxwell’s century pushed Australia to victory
Turning to international cricket, an electrifying performance took place as Glenn Maxwell led Australia to a remarkable victory in a challenging chase of 223 runs against India in Guwahati during the third T20I.
Maxwell’s unbeaten century, achieved in just 47 balls, matched the rapid pace set earlier in the series by Aaron Finch and Josh Inglis, establishing a new record for the fastest century by an Australian in men’s T20 Internationals.
In addition to this feat, Maxwell equaled Rohit Sharma’s record for the most centuries in men’s T20Is, securing his fourth century in this format. Notably, his previous T20I century against India occurred in Bengaluru in 2019, contributing to another successful Australian run-chase.
