Karachi: Lyari Expressway U-turn, toll plaza temporarily closed

WEB DESK: The National Highways and Motorway Police (South Zone) announced on Saturday that a key U-turn on the Lyari Expressway has been temporarily closed due to ongoing development work. According to officials, construction by the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) has necessitated the closure of the U-turn connecting Hasan Square to Sohrab Goth, affecting all types of traffic.

Vehicles travelling from Sohrab Goth toward Gharibabad have been advised to use the Garden Interchange for a U-turn, while commuters heading from Hasan Square to Sohrab Goth are also instructed to reroute via the same interchange. In addition, the Gharibabad Toll Plaza has been shut down as part of the development activity.

The authorities have urged citizens to plan their journeys accordingly and opt for alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. They added that the temporary closures are essential to ensure smooth execution of the upgrade works underway on the expressway.
