Karachi: man grappling with illness jumps into sea

KARACHI: A man tragically drowned in the sea after leaping from the Native Jetty Bridge, according to local police.
Police have initiated a rescue operation to locate the submerged man, with indications suggesting the incident was a suicide attempt.
The individual, identified as Shahzeb, had traveled to Native Jetty via rickshaw from Jinnah Hospital, where he had been undergoing treatment.
Police said that he had been grappling with illness for several days and had undergone three stomach surgeries at Civil Hospital.
Described as unemployed, Shahzeb’s desperate act has left authorities grappling with the aftermath of yet another tragic loss.
Native Jetty Bridge, also known as Napier Mole Bridge, is a bridge located in Karachi, which connects the city with the Port of Karachi. It is one of the oldest bridges in Karachi.
