The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has announced a local public holiday in the city on June 8 on the occasion of the annual Urs of Abdullah Shah Ghazi.

According to a notification issued by KMC, June 8, 2026 (22 Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH) will be observed as a public holiday in Karachi at the local level.

The notification stated that, in line with a resolution passed by the City Council Karachi, all KMC-administered offices will remain closed on the day.

However, it added that officials and staff engaged in essential and emergency services will continue to perform their duties as usual.
