Karachi Weather Update: Rain, thunderstorms and hail expected over weekend

Karachi: The weather turned pleasant in Karachi early this morning after light rainfall in the city’s northern and western areas.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a western weather system is currently affecting the region, bringing chances of more rain in isolated parts of the city today. The department stated that thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are likely, with rainfall expected to range from moderate to occasionally heavy in some areas.

Officials warned that if thunderclouds intensify, wind speeds could exceed 40 kilometers per hour in certain parts of the city. However, no rainfall is expected in Karachi tomorrow.

Looking ahead, the Met Office has forecast a fresh spell of weather activity over the weekend. Thunderstorms, strong winds, and rain are expected on both Saturday and Sunday, with a possibility of hailstorms in some areas.

Residents are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and take necessary precautions, especially during periods of strong winds and thunderstorms.
