Three FC personnel martyred in quadcopter drone attack in Karak

WEB DESK: Three injured personnel of the Federal Constabulary were burnt alive after militants set fire to a Rescue 1122 ambulance transporting them in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district, officials said on Sunday.

According to details, the attack took place on 23 February 2026 in the Qila Shahidan area, where militants known as Fitna al-Khawarij allegedly carried out a quadcopter strike on a Federal Constabulary post.

Following the attack, two Rescue 1122 ambulances reached the site to evacuate the wounded. However, militants reportedly targeted both vehicles on their return journey. One ambulance was set ablaze, burning the injured personnel alive, while the second managed to evacuate its passengers safely.

The ambulance driver and a Rescue 1122 official sustained burn injuries in the incident.

Those martyred in the fire were identified as Constable Murad Gul, Constable Ayan Khan, and Lance Naik Adil Khan. Murad Gul and Ayan Khan belonged to Hangu district, while Adil Khan was a resident of Mansehra district. All were local residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Other injured personnel include Havaldar Sabir, son of Hakim Shah; Muhammad Yousaf, son of Sharbat Khan; Hanif, son of Gul Zareen; and ambulance driver Ahmad Hussain. The injured were shifted to hospitals in Bannu and Karak for medical treatment.

Officials said the attackers allegedly filmed the incident and circulated the footage on social media, describing the act as an attempt to spread fear and intimidation among the public.

Security sources condemned the targeting of wounded personnel and emergency responders, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan, calling it an act of brutality. They stated that operations against militant elements would continue until the threat is eliminated.

Further investigation into the incident is under way.
