Katy Perry to feature FIFA World Cup opening ceremony after wrapping Lifetimes Tour


TORONTO: Katy Perry is set to headline the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony, marking a major global stage appearance following the conclusion of her Lifetimes Tour.

The 41-year-old pop star will perform at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, on June 12, ahead of the opening match between the United States and Paraguay. Her performance is part of a wider entertainment lineup featuring artists such as Future, Lisa, Tyla, Anitta, Rema, and DJ Sanjoy.

Tyla will also feature prominently at the tournament opener in Mexico City on June 11, where Mexico faces South Africa at the historic Azteca Stadium. She will be joined by artists including Alejandro Fernández, Danny Ocean, Lila Downs, Belinda, J Balvin, and groups like Los Ángeles Azules and Maná.

Meanwhile, Canada’s opening ceremony at Toronto’s BMO Field will feature performances from Alanis Morissette, Michael Bublé, Alessia Cara, Jessie Reyez, Nora Fatehi, William Prince, Elyanna, Vegedream, and DJ Sanjoy ahead of Canada’s match against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Organisers confirmed that entertainment segments will begin approximately 90 minutes before each match.

Perry’s FIFA appearance comes shortly after wrapping up her Lifetimes Tour in December 2025, continuing her return to major international stages.
