Keshav Maharaj

RAWALPINDI: South African spinner Keshav Maharaj etched his name into the record books during the ongoing Test match in Rawalpindi, becoming only the second South African bowler to take seven wickets in an innings on Pakistani soil. Maharaj claimed 7 for 102, joining Paul Adams, who recorded 7 for 128 in Lahore back in 2003.

Returning to the side after missing the first Test due to injury, Maharaj delivered a match-defining performance and recorded his 12th five-wicket haul in Test cricket. The 34-year-old has now played 60 Test matches, amassing 210 wickets in a career that continues to flourish.

This performance couldn’t come at a better time for South Africa, as the attention now shifts to the highly anticipated White-Ball series against Pakistan, with tickets already on sale.
