Kim Kardashian is gearing up to receive her California bar exam results this week, but the reality star says if things don’t go her way, there’s one unlikely culprit to blame — ChatGPT.

During Vanity Fair’s well-known lie detector segment, conducted by her All’s Fair co-star Teyana Taylor, Kim opened up about how artificial intelligence has been more of a setback than a saviour in her law studies.

“I use it for legal advice,” she admitted during the test. “When I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there.”

However, her experience with the AI tool has been far from perfect. The 45-year-old Hulu star confessed that ChatGPT’s answers are often wrong, which has led to some unfortunate test results.

“It has made me fail tests all the time,” she said, adding with frustration, “Then I’ll get mad and yell at it.”

From baby bar to big test

Despite her struggles with AI, Kim’s commitment to becoming a lawyer has remained strong. She previously passed the “baby bar” — the first-year law students’ exam — in 2021 after four attempts. Earlier this year, she also completed her legal apprenticeship, a key step towards becoming eligible for the full California bar.

To mark the milestone, she hosted a small celebration at the Beverly Hills Hotel, proudly donning a graduation cap in photos she shared on Instagram. Her mentor, Jessica Jackson, called Kim’s progress “one of the most inspiring legal journeys we’ve ever seen.”

The upcoming bar exam is one of the toughest in the United States, spanning two days and featuring essay questions, a performance test, and 200 multiple-choice questions. The July 2024 pass rate stood at 53.8 percent.

For Kim, who is following in the footsteps of her late father, renowned attorney Robert Kardashian, this is the next big step. And while her faith in AI may have wavered, her determination to earn that law degree remains as strong as ever.
