Kings vs Qalandars: Karachi bowlers restrict Lahore to 128-9 in PSL 11 clash

LAHORE: Karachi Kings produced a disciplined bowling performance to restrict Lahore Qalandars to 128-9 in their PSL 11 encounter at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday. Opting to bat first, Lahore struggled from the outset as Moeen Ali removed Fakhar Zaman early, setting the tone for Karachi’s dominance.

Abdullah Shafique top-scored with a steady 33, while brief contributions came from Sikandar Raza (19) and Haseebullah Khan (28), but regular wickets kept halting Lahore’s progress. The middle and lower order failed to accelerate, with the team losing wickets at crucial intervals and managing only a few runs in the final overs.

Karachi’s bowling unit shared the spoils, with Adam Zampa, Mir Hamza, and Moeen Ali picking up two wickets each, while Hasan Ali, Salman Agha, and Abbas Afridi chipped in with one apiece to cap off a strong all-round effort.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators, led by Saud Shakeel, secured their first win of PSL 11 with a convincing 40-run victory over Hyderabad Kingsmen at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, on Sunday. Defending 175, Quetta’s bowlers delivered a dominant performance to restrict Hyderabad to 134-8 in 20 overs.
