PESHAWAR: In a major development aimed at protecting the rights of overseas Pakistanis, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved the establishment of special courts to hear property disputes under the “Overseas Pakistanis Properties Act, 2025.”
The decision, taken during the 45th provincial cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, is expected to streamline the legal process and ensure faster resolution of property cases that often remain pending for years.
Special Assistant on Information Shafi Jan said the new courts will enable overseas Pakistanis to pursue property-related cases without unnecessary delays and procedural complications.
The cabinet also approved funds for healthcare upgrades, including the replacement of hemodialysis machines in provincial hospitals, and allocated Rs 6 million for the Grand Kurram Youth Convention. Vehicles were approved for forest staff in the merged districts as well as for the Provincial Accountability Office.
The cabinet further directed all departments to submit details of government vehicles within a week, as part of efforts to improve administrative transparency.
Officials said the establishment of special courts is part of a broader initiative to protect investments of overseas Pakistanis and strengthen confidence in the province’s legal system.
