PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Monday granted in-principle approval to the Provincial Youth Policy 2026 during a meeting of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department.

According to an official statement, the policy will be presented before the provincial cabinet for final approval.

Chairing the meeting, the chief minister directed authorities to introduce legislation aimed at protecting the rights and interests of young people across the province.

He also instructed officials to ensure the establishment of Jawan Markaz (Youth Centres) in every district and called for the formation of empowered local governing bodies to manage and operate the facilities.

Sohail Afridi said a large segment of the province’s population comprises young people, making meaningful investment in youth development a necessity.

The chief minister further announced that the next provincial budget would be a youth-focused budget and directed the relevant departments to place special emphasis on equipping young people with digital skills.
