PESHAWAR: If you’ve ever wanted your vehicle to stand out with a name that reflects your identity or region, this news is for you.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has announced that it will issue special, unique number plates, and the bidding process is set to take place in Peshawar on January 27.
According to the department, these exclusive number plates will be auctioned not only under famous surnames but also in the names of tribes and regions. Plates featuring names such as Wazir, Mehsud, Khattak One, Mohmand, Khan, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Swati, Arbab, Khalil, Afridi, and Yousafzai One will be up for grabs.
In addition, number plates representing Malakand, Abbottabad, Kohat, and Bannu will also be auctioned, giving residents and enthusiasts a chance to own plates linked to their hometowns or heritage.
If you’re planning to participate, keep this in mind: the base bid price has been set at Rs 1 million, while a security deposit of Rs 100,000 will be required to enter the auction.
The excise department has made it clear that if the successful bidder fails to pay the remaining amount within the specified time, the security deposit will be forfeited.
So, if you’re interested in owning a one-of-a-kind number plate that reflects your name, tribe, or region, January 27 is a date you’ll want to mark on your calendar.
