PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has imposed a ban on releasing salaries before the first day of each month.
The provincial finance department has issued a formal notification, stating that salaries were disbursed in the last days of October, which created administrative complications.
It has therefore been decided that, from now on, salaries and pensions will only be issued on the first of every month.

The finance department has also directed all relevant departments to strictly comply with the order.
Earlier, the federal government had barred government employees from receiving both a pension and a salary if they are re-employed after retirement.
The Ministry of Finance had issued an official memorandum in this regard.
The office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance said that if retired federal government employees are re-employed after the age of 60, they will be entitled to either the pension from their previous service or the salary from their current employment—not both.
