KP govt establishes separate secretariat for Southern districts

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister (CM) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to establish a separate secretariat for the southern districts.

According to the notification issued by the K-P Establishment Department on Friday, The Additional Chief Secretary Interior Muhammad Abid Majeed has been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary South Secretariat.

“The additional chief secretary south will be answerable to CM KP through the chief secretary KP,” read the notification.

According to the notification, recommendations will be prepared for the provincial cabinet to establish a separate secretariat for Kohat Division, Bannu Division, DI Khan Division, and districts connected to tribal areas.

Similarly, the Additional Chief Secretary South of KP will consult all stakeholders on amendments to rules regarding the administrative and financial powers of the new South Secretariat.

Furthermore, the ACS South will report directly to the Chief Minister.

The southern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa comprises 11 districts. Chief Minister KP Ali Amin Gandapur and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi also hail from the southern district of DI Khan.
