KP govt passes Rs121bn supplementary spending plan

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has approved a supplementary budget worth over Rs121 billion.

Of the total, Rs50.49 billion has been allocated for current expenditures, while Rs71.73 billion has been approved for the development budget.

Key allocations include Rs7.53 billion for police, Rs4.12 billion for the administration of justice, Rs1.38 billion for the Home Department, and Rs514.1 million for prisons.

Funds were also approved for multiple departments, including Rs1.29 billion for local government, Rs412.9 million for forests, Rs706.5 million for information, and Rs4.43 billion for social welfare.

Additionally, Rs7.5 billion was allocated to local councils, Rs1.46 billion to transport, Rs7.35 billion to relief activities, and Rs3 billion to debt servicing, while Rs3 billion was set aside for merged districts.
