KP revives KPISA to counter terrorism, illegal activities

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken the decision to resurrect the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Integrated Security Architecture (KPISA), aimed at fostering collaboration among intelligence agencies to combat all activities associated with terrorism.

This pivotal decision was taken during a Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Apex Committee meeting chaired by the caretaker chief minister in Peshawar. The Corps Commander Peshawar also attended the meeting.

According to a statement, the provincial government has issued directives for a comprehensive crackdown on various illicit activities, including the use of illegal mobile SIMs, explosives, extortion, possession of illegal arms, money laundering, non-registered vehicles, hate speech on social media platforms, drug trafficking, and other unlawful practices.

Furthermore, the meeting yielded an agreement to compile data of Afghan nationals currently residing in the province without legal documentation.

The statement outlined that relevant federal and provincial departments, in conjunction with intelligence agencies, will undertake coordinated actions to address these challenges effectively.
