Lack of funds: School buses become non-operational

ISLAMABAD: Multiple school buses in Islamabad have been rendered non-operational due to lack of funds for purchasing fuel.

Students across the city are encountering hardships as a result of the prolonged suspension of bus services provided by various schools and colleges.

Specifically, the buses affiliated with different educational institutions, including IMCB in sector F8/4, ceased their operations starting from Tuesday due to a lack of funds to purchase diesel.

The situation has left students without a crucial mode of transportation.

The principals of the colleges frequently requested that the FDE director general for provision of funds for college transportation, but the authorities allegedly disregarded their requests, and as a result, buses are now being suspended owing to a shortage of funding.

The parents, who are experiencing extreme problems as a result of the transport service’s closure, have appealed to Minister of Education to take notice for immediate restoration of the transport facility.

Efforts are underway to gather the perspective of the Federal Directorate of Education on the matter.
