Lahore couple becomes first duo to summit world’s 8th highest peak Manaslu

LAHORE: Lahore-based couple Ahmed and Anum Uzair on Thursday reached the summit of Mount Manaslu, the eighth-highest peak globally, standing at 8,163 meters above sea level in Nepal.

The couple was accompanied by a team of Nepali Sherpas, including Pasang Sherpa, Pasan Dukpa Sherpa, and Pastenji Sherpa, on their ascent.

“Congratulations to Ahmed and Anum Uzair, who successfully climbed the eighth-highest peak, Mt Manaslu (8163m), this morning. They are the first Pakistani couple to achieve (climb an 8000m peak) this feat,” wrote mountaineering company, Seven Summit Treks in a tweet.

Fellow mountaineer Sheroze Kashif took to ‘X’, formerly known as Twitter to congratulate the couple.
