Lahore nikah ceremony: Junaid Safdar ties knot with Shanzeh Ali

LAHORE: The long-awaited union of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and grandson of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif, with Shanzeh Ali finally took place on Saturday with a grand nikah ceremony.
The bridegroom wore an ivory sherwani paired with a gold-toned turban, smiling throughout the ceremony, while the bride looked stunning in a traditional pink outfit complemented by elegant jewelry.

The nikah was solemnised by the sajjada nashin of the shrine of Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, while the bride’s consent was received by CII Chairman Mufti Raghib Hussain Naeemi.
The event was attended by numerous high-profile guests, including political leaders and family members: Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Hamza Shehbaz, Salman Shehbaz, Hussain Nawaz, senior PML-N leaders, Hassan Nawaz, as well as several foreign dignitaries.

The valima ceremony is scheduled for Sunday at Jati Umra Farms, with around 800 guests expected. PM Shehbaz Sharif, federal and provincial ministers, senior political figures, and foreign guests are anticipated to attend the reception.

On Friday evening, the couple had their mehendi event, which was attended by the Maryam’s close family members and guests. The bridegroom wore a deep navy-blue traditional kurta with golden buttons, paired with a golden-brown shawl draped over his shoulder.
