Lahore to get 27 electric buses

LAHORE: Lahore will receive 27 electric buses, it was decided during a review session of transport sector projects led by Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.

During the meeting, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam directed to ensure that the fare of Punjab buses remains at a minimum.

During the meeting, a decision was made to expand Metro Bus projects in three cities of Punjab. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif ordered an increase in the number of bikes for students.

He stressed the reduction of the monthly installment for students’ bikes as much as possible.A briefing was also provided on the 20,000 electric and petrol bikes project, as well as the 657 bus service projects in five cities. It was decided in the meeting that students would be provided with 19,000 petrol and 1,000 electric bikes on interest-free monthly installments, as briefed.

Senior Provincial Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Information Minister Azam Bukhari, Transport Minister Bilal Akbar, MPA Saniha Aashiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman P&D, Transport Secretary, Finance, Higher Education Department and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
