Lahore woke up to another morning of thick smog and poor air quality, causing difficulties for people heading out early for work, schools, colleges, and universities.
According to the latest updates, the temperature in Lahore was recorded at 23°C at 9 am and is expected to rise to around 30°C by 3:30 pm.
Visibility in the city has been badly affected due to increasing smog in several areas, including Bedian Road, DHA Phase 9, multiple points on the Ring Road, Thokar Niaz Baig, and the entry and exit points of the Sialkot–Wazirabad Motorway.
The air quality index (AQI) in Lahore remains at a hazardous level of 394, according to IQAir. It is expected to fluctuate during the day, with levels around 155 at 11 am, 335 at noon, 315 at 1 pm, and 184 by 2 pm. Light rain is likely around 5 pm, which may help reduce the AQI to around 213, and further to 155 by 8 pm.
It is advised to stay indoors as much as possible, avoid outdoor exercise, keep windows closed, wear masks when going outside, and use air purifiers indoors to stay safe from polluted air.
Currently, Lahore tops the list of the country’s most polluted cities, followed by Faisalabad with an AQI of 338 and Multan with 246.
