Lahore Zoo’s major upgrade deadline set for January 31

LAHORE: In a nocturnal visit to the Lahore Zoo, Chief Minister (CM) Punjab, Mohsin Naqvi, personally oversaw the ongoing upgradation efforts, setting a firm deadline for completion by January 31st.
The purpose of this endeavour is to enhance the recreational facilities available to the citizens of Lahore.
CM Naqvi, actively engaged in the inspection, directed an expedited pace of work by implementing a three-shift schedule and augmenting the night shift workforce.
Additionally, he mandated the introduction of 100 new animals, promising a delightful experience for citizens, particularly the younger audience.
In an innovative move, plans include the establishment of a Hologram Zoo, adding a unique dimension to the zoo’s attractions.
The upcoming collection of animals is poised to bring joy to visitors, with an emphasis on creating a captivating experience for children.

Highlighting the diversity, CM Naqvi disclosed plans to feature 142 marine species in the aquarium, all housed in international standard cages.
The ambitious upgradation project aims to elevate the Lahore Zoo to international standards, ensuring a world-class experience for its patrons.
During the visit, CM Naqvi received a comprehensive briefing from Secretary Wildlife on the progress of the upgrade plan.
The event witnessed the presence of key figures, including Provincial Ministers Mansoor Qadir, Amir Mir, Azfar Ali Nasir, Bilal Afzal, Adviser Wahab Riaz, Secretary Forest, Secretary C&W, Secretary P&D Board, Secretary Livestock, DG Wildlife, Director Lahore Zoo, and VC UVAS, underscoring the significance of the initiative.
