Late night police encounter in Lahore leaves two dead

LAHORE: An alleged police encounter in Chung resulted in the deaths of two accused individuals,  sources reported on Wednesday.

The sources said that the incident occurred when the investigation team had taken the suspects to Green Town to identify other accomplices, where the alleged accomplices suddenly opened fire.

As per the sources, following the gunfire exchange, both the suspects lost their lives.

Ex-PTI MPA’s brother, nephew shot dead in Karachi

Earlier in July, two people were killed and three were injured after unidentified people opened fire on the vehicle of MPA’s brother in Defence Housing Authority (DHA).

Police said 65-year-old Akram Abro and his son Shaharyar Abri lost their lives in the incident. The suspects targeted the vehicle of former PTI MPA Aslam Abaro’s brother.

The suspects opened indiscriminate fire and fled the scene. The dead and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. Police and forensic teams arrived at the crime scene and lifted necessary evidence.

Police said the motive for the shooting is not yet known but it is believed to be old family enmity.
