LESCO recovers Rs 830 million from defaulters

LAHORE: Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has recovered over Rs 830 million from over 26,000 defaulters in its five districts during a recovery campaign.
According to LESCO spokesperson, the campaign was launched under the direction of LESCO Chief Executive Engineer Shahid Haider and was assisted by Tehsildars in all five districts.
On the 30th day of the campaign, more than Rs 22 million have been recovered from 723 defaulters.
Chief Engineer O&M (T&G) Zafar Iqbal in Northern Circle with the assistance of Tehsildar City Mujahid Zia and Tehsildar Shalimar Noreez Humayun collected Rs 4.76 million from 78 defaulters in Eastern Circle.

Manager Material Disposal Engineer Anwar Witto along with Tehsildar Model Town Rana Asar and Tehsil Cantt Sajjad Qureshi recovered 2.43 million from 83 defaulters in Central Circle and Rs 1.37 million from 42 defaulters in South Circle.
Similarly, Manager Technical Engineer Muhammad Farooq with the assistance of Tehsildar Nankana Muhammad Iqbal Rasheed and Tehsildar Sheikhupura Muhammad Aslam Gujjar recovered Rs 1.34 million from 76 defaulters in Nanka Na Circle and Rs 2.14 million from 92 defaulters in Sheikhupura Circle.
And (PMU) Engineer Abbas Ali with the assistance of Naib Tehsildar Kasur and Okara Mirza Zahid Baig recovered Rs 1.88 million from 122 defaulters in Okara Circle and Rs 3.39 million from 141 defaulters in Kasur Circle.
Chief Executive LESCO says that the institution is facing loss due to defaulters, and that action against them will continue. – INP
