LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has fixed January 21 for hearing a petition seeking a ban on the X (formerly Twitter) account of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The petition was filed by lawyer Ghulam Murtaza Khan and will be heard by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir. The Registrar’s Office has issued the cause list for January 21, confirming the date of proceedings.
According to court records, Imran Khan has not yet submitted a formal reply to the petition. During an earlier hearing, his counsel Salman Akram Raja requested an adjournment due to the Pakistan Bar Council elections, which the court accepted.
In compliance with court directions, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail submitted a report stating that the PTI founder’s X account is not being operated from within the jail.
At the upcoming hearing, Barrister Zafarullah is expected to represent the petitioner, Ghulam Murtaza Khan. The court will take up the matter to determine further proceedings in the case.
