LIV Golf has officially announced its return to South Africa in 2027, following a highly successful debut event that attracted a record crowd of over 100,000 spectators.
The tournament will once again be held at The Club at Steyn City from April 22 to 25, 2027, reinforcing the country’s growing reputation as a top destination for international sports events.
The announcement came just moments after Bryson DeChambeau secured a thrilling playoff victory against Jon Rahm in the inaugural LIV Golf South Africa event. Both golfers finished tied at 26-under-par after 72 holes, delivering one of the most exciting contests on the tour.
DeChambeau forced a playoff with a crucial par on the 18th hole before sealing the win with a birdie putt, as Rahm narrowly missed his opportunity. The victory marked DeChambeau’s second consecutive LIV Golf title, boosting his form ahead of The Masters Tournament starting April 9.
South Africa’s Minister for Sport, Arts and Culture, Gayton McKenzie, welcomed the decision, stating that hosting LIV Golf again will further strengthen the country’s position as a premier hub for global sport and entertainment.
With record attendance, world-class competition, and growing global attention, LIV Golf South Africa 2027 is expected to be even bigger and more exciting, attracting fans and top golfers from around the world.
