Mohsin Naqvi announces social media crackdown

WEB DESK: Federal Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, conducted a surprise visit and inspection of the immigration counters at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi as travellers complained on long queues and processes before taking off.

During the visit, Minister Naqvi personally reviewed the ongoing immigration processes, examined the travel documents of several departing passengers, and directed officials from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to verify the authenticity of presented documents.

The Minister commended the vigilance of immigration staff, specifically praising ASI Amir Lashari for exemplary duty after he intercepted three passengers attempting to travel with incomplete documentation. He encouraged all officers to maintain such high standards of professionalism.

Addressing officials, Naqvi laid down clear directives. He stated that passengers with incomplete or unverified documents will categorically not be permitted to travel. He further emphasised a strict policy against professional beggars attempting to travel under the guise of passengers, declaring they “will never be allowed to travel.”

“The respect of Pakistan is paramount,” the Interior Minister asserted. “We will not allow it to be compromised in any way.”

He also issued a crucial assurance for lawful travelers, affirming that no passenger with complete and correct documentation would be, or has been, unjustly prevented from traveling.

The Minister’s visit concluded with direct interaction with passengers bound for international destinations, where he inquired about their experience with the immigration process. The inspection underscores the government’s focus on streamlining legal travel while strengthening border security protocols.
