LPG price hiked by Rs20.68 per kg for October

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for domestic users by Rs20.68 per kilogramme for October, raising the price of the commodity to Rs279.34 per kg.

According to a notification issued by OGRA, the price of LPG has been increased by Rs20.68 per kg compared with the previous month.

The price of an 11.8kg domestic LPG cylinder has also been increased by Rs244.14, taking its notified price to Rs3,296.23 for October.

The new LPG prices will remain applicable for the month of October, according to the notification.

The regulator notified the price of LPG at Rs279.34 per kg, while the price of the standard 11.8kg domestic cylinder has been fixed at Rs3,296.23.

The latest increase means consumers using LPG for cooking and other domestic needs will have to pay more from October.

OGRA determines and notifies LPG prices on a monthly basis. Its official website lists monthly notifications for indigenous LPG prices, including notifications issued for previous months. ([OGRA][1])

The increase in the notified price comes at a time when LPG is widely used by households that do not have access to piped natural gas, as well as by commercial consumers and transport operators.

With the latest increase, the notified price of LPG has risen by more than Rs20 per kg in a month, while the cost of a standard domestic cylinder has gone up by more than Rs240.

The regulator has directed that the notified prices be applicable for October.
