Islamabad high rise fire

ISLAMABAD: Motorists in the capital should brace for significant traffic diversions as construction work begins on Ataturk Avenue, stretching from Express Chowk to Ayub Chowk. The Islamabad Police confirmed that the diversion plan will remain in effect from today until the completion of the project.

According to an official spokesperson, Ataturk Avenue will be completely closed between Express Chowk and Ayub Chowk. Commuters heading to and from the Marriott Hotel are advised to use alternative routes via China Chowk and Press Club Road from Jinnah Avenue.

For traffic approaching the Marriott Hotel from Khayaban-e-Seharwardi and Embassy Road, the suggested detour is via Shaheed-e-Millat Road and Aga Khan Road. Those travelling from Srinagar Highway to reach the Secretariat should follow the diversion through Serena Chowk, G-8 Chowk, and Secretariat Chowk.

Additionally, residents of Seventh Avenue can access the Secretariat by taking Margalla Road and continuing along Shahrah-e-Dastoor.

The Islamabad Police have urged commuters to plan their routes carefully, allow extra travel time, and follow the designated diversion signs to avoid delays. Officials also stressed the importance of adhering to traffic rules in construction zones to ensure safety for both workers and motorists.

The authorities have assured the public that measures will be in place to manage traffic flow efficiently throughout the construction period.
