Man takes gift to meet Facebook girl, ends up gang-raped in Haripur

HARIPUR: In a shocking incident of honey trapping, a 21-year-old man was allegedly gang-raped and robbed after being lured into a fake meeting with a fake woman he had befriended on Facebook, police and sources confirmed.
According to details, the youth, a resident of Nagri Bala, had been in touch with a girl named Urooj on Facebook.

She invited him to meet near a deserted area close to the government garden within the limits of the City Police Station.
However, upon reaching the location, the man was ambushed by three armed men.
The assailants allegedly beat him, gang-raped him at knifepoint, filmed the assault, and looted Rs35,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and a gift he had brought for the girl.
After the assault, the suspects reportedly threatened the victim with further harm if he approached the police, warning him to quietly return to his hometown.
Despite the threats, the victim called a friend for help and reported the incident at the City Police Station.
In his statement, he said he could identify the attackers if they were brought before him.
Police have registered a case under rape and assault sections of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) against three unidentified suspects.

However, no arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
Police “identify” two suspects in Lahore gang-rape case
Meanwhile, Punjab police claimed that two suspects, who allegedly gang-raped a woman in front of her husband in the Lahore’s Chuhang area were killed in an encounter.
According to officials, a special team from the Crime and Control Department (CCD) Model Town, following leads from the already detained suspect in the gang-rape case, Arsalan.

In the exchange of fire, two suspects – identified as Imran and Zahid – were shot dead.
Police officials say the suspects were reportedly under the influence of drugs at the time of the incident.
