Mansehra: child rescued, two Afghan kidnappers killed in police shootout

WEB DESK: In a successful police operation in the Dumgala area of Balakot police limits, an abducted minor child was safely recovered, while two kidnappers were killed, their weapons seized.

According to sources, on June 5, 2025, a woman named (A), wife of Muhammad Waqas and a resident of Kohistan Colony, filed a report at Balakot Police Station stating that her two-and-a-half-year-old son, Muhammad Saad, had gone missing after being taken away by his paternal aunt (M) on the pretext of medical treatment.

Later, the child’s father, who resides in Dubai, received ransom calls from unknown individuals. A special team was formed under the supervision of DSP Sadaqat Nisar Khan to arrest the suspects and recover the child. During the investigation, raids were conducted, mobile location tracking was utilised, and assistance was sought from other law enforcement agencies.

Islamabad Police rescues two kidnapped men

On June 10, 2025, the suspects called the affected family to Dumgala for ransom payment. When police surrounded the area, the kidnappers opened fire. In the retaliatory action, both kidnappers, Arman Jan and Fahim Khan (residents of Badh Ber, Peshawar—Afghan nationals), were killed.

The abducted child, Muhammad Saad, and the woman (M) were safely recovered. Two 30-bore pistols and 30 cartridges were seized from the suspects. Police are conducting further investigations into the incident, which occurred on Tuesday night.
