Maryam Nawaz’s daughter Mahnoor Safdar ties the knot at Jati Umra

LAHORE: Mahnoor Safdar, daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, married Azaan Jabbar, son of a prominent industrialist, at a family ceremony held at Jati Umra on Saturday.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif and other senior political and family figures attended the wedding ceremony.

According to sources, the nikah was held at around 5pm at Jati Umra, with members of the Sharif family, close relatives and family friends invited to the private gathering.

Prime Minister Sharif arrived at Jati Umra specifically to attend the ceremony. Mahnoor’s father Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, Hasan Nawaz and Hussain Nawaz were also present.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Senior Punjab Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb were among other prominent figures who attended the ceremony.

According to family sources, Azaan Jabbar belongs to a prominent business family. His father, Jabbar Khalid, is a well-known industrialist, while the family is associated with the flour milling industry.

Mahnoor recently returned to Pakistan after completing her higher education and graduating from SOAS University of London.

Maryam Nawaz had travelled to London to attend her daughter’s graduation ceremony.

At the time, she had expressed her happiness and said that, by the grace of Allah, all three of her children had completed their higher education.
