Matthew Wade begins coaching career

WEB DESK: Australia cricketer Matthew Wade put down the cricket bat as he transitions to coaching. He will join the coaching staff for the upcoming series against Pakistan.
The 36-year-old wicketkeeper and batter announced his retirement from the international cricket, concluding an illustrious career that spanned over a decade.

Matthew Wade made his international debut in 2011 and quickly became a key player for Australia across all formats. He played 36 test matches, 97 one-day internationals (ODIs) and 92 Twenty20 internationals (T20Is) during his career.
In test cricket, the Australia scored 1.655 runs at an average of 30.56, including three centuries and eight half-centuries. High highest test score was 117.
As a wicketkeeper, he recorded 113 catches and 10 stumpings.
In ODIs, Matthew Wade accumulated 2,335 runs at an average of 26.50 with three centuries and 11 fifties. His highest score in ODIs was 130.
As a wicketkeeper, the Australian excelled as well; he took 56 catches and executing 12 stumpings.
Within the sport’s shortest format, he scored 1,500 runs at an average of 22.06, including one century and six half-centuries. His highest in T20 international was 80.
He took 36 catches as a wicketkeeper within his T20I career.

The Australian was well-respected for his ferocity with the bat, having stepped up in critical moments for his team. He played an important role in Australia winning at the 2021 ICC T20 World Cup, where his performance was instrumental in securing the world cup.
