ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister has appointed Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi as the new Coordinator for Islamic and Gulf Countries, entrusting him with a key role in strengthening Pakistan’s ties with the Islamic world.

In addition to his diplomatic responsibilities, Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has been given an important mandate to promote interfaith harmony and religious tolerance. His appointment is being viewed as a strategic step in enhancing Pakistan’s international relations, particularly with Gulf and Islamic nations.

Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi has a long record of service in religious and diplomatic affairs, having previously served as a special representative and holding membership in the Supreme Council of Islamic World Relations. He is also recognised for his efforts to foster religious tolerance and interfaith dialogue.

With close connections to influential figures across the Islamic and Arab world, his new role is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s diplomatic and cultural engagement with the region.
