ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has turned down the offer of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to form a coalition government in Balochistan, saying that it has already allied with the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the province.

The decision was conveyed by PML-N leader Ishaq Dar to a JUI-F delegation that met him in Islamabad on Wednesday.

According to sources, the JUI-F delegation, led by Secretary General Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, proposed that the two parties could join hands to form a government in Balochistan, where no party has a clear majority in the provincial assembly. The JUI-F argued that such a move would ensure political and democratic stability in the province.

However, Dar rejected the offer, saying that the PML-N had already reached an agreement with the PPP for power-sharing in Balochistan, Geo News said while quoting a source.

He said that the PML-N and the JUI-F had a long history of cooperation, but the JUI-F had delayed its offer for too long. He said that the PML-N had been trying to contact the JUI-F leadership for the last four days, but there was no response.

Dar said that he would inform the PML-N high command about the JUI-F’s offer, but the final decision would rest with them. He also said that the PML-N wanted to work with all democratic forces for the betterment of the country.
