ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (N) President Shehbaz Sharif has asserted that the former chairman of PTI, Imran Khan, was a selected prime minister in 2018.

During a conversation with Mansoor Ali Khan on the programme ‘Hum Dekhenge’ on Hum TV, Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the challenges faced by his party, including the loss of their won seats and the shutdown of the Result Transmission System (RTS).

Sharif emphasized that those involved in the May 9 conspiracy do not deserve any leniency, considering the impact it had on the nation.

He noted that the vote of no-confidence was intended to be initiated by parliamentary members, and PTI representatives expressed their discontent with Imran Khan’s government.

Although refraining from naming individuals, Sharif mentioned that General Bajwa had suggested immediate elections if a vote of no-confidence was not brought forward.

Addressing accusations against his party and family, Sharif clarified that Nawaz Sharif never spoke against the army chief. He pointed out the unfair treatment Nawaz Sharif received, being embroiled in false cases, despite no connection to the Panama issue.

Sharif also challenged allegations of financial irregularities, stating that if there were any irregularities in his or Hamza’s accounts, he would quit politics immediately.

In reference to a specific accusation against Nawaz Sharif, Sharif urged adherence to legal processes for a fair resolution, emphasizing the importance of truth prevailing.”
