May 9 was a conspiracy against General Asim Munir: Shehbaz Sharif

ISLAMABAD:  Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif stated on Monday that the May 9 riots were a conspiracy against Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir orchestrated by the founding chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Imran Khan, and his party.

Sharif made those comments while speaking on Hum News programme ‘Faisala Aap Ka with Asma Shirazi’.

Shehbaz remarked that the loss of PTI’s iconic electoral symbol ‘Bat’ was a consequence of the party’s own missteps.

While discussing Imran Khan’s 10-year sentence, Shehbaz said that the issue isn’t about whether decisions are good or bad but rather about upholding the law.
