ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has confirmed that the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) scheduled for Sunday, September 10, 2023, will proceed as originally planned.
According to an official notification from the PMDC, a separate MDCAT test will be conducted for students residing in flood-affected areas or facing other significant challenges.
The decision was made in response to the concerns of affected students and under the guidance of the Federal Minister for Health.
In an official statement posted on its official platform, PMDC stated, “The Honourable Federal Minister for Health has shown compassion towards students intending to take the MDCAT Examination on September 10, 2023 (Sunday).
Consequently, it has been determined that a dedicated MDCAT Exam will be organized for students hailing from Flood Affected Areas and individuals with valid reasons across the nation, following consultations with Provincial Governments.”
MDCAT exams rescheduled to Sept
This measure has been taken to ensure equitable opportunities for all students and to alleviate the pressure on those impacted by unforeseen circumstances.
A specific date for the special MDCAT examination catering to flood-affected students will be announced after consultations with Provincial Governments.
PMDC emphasizes in the notification that the same approved syllabus will apply to this special examination, and students can access it on the PMDC website.
The postponement of the MDCAT examination for 2023 in flood-affected regions is aimed at affording affected aspirants additional time for adequate preparation.
