Meghan Markle’s embarks on a new venture: American Riviera Orchard


WEB DESK: American actress and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle announced the launch of her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.

Markle unveiled her new venture through a post on photo-sharing social media platform Instagram, sharing a clip featuring herself arranging flowers and baking in her home.

The brand’s Instagram account introduced itself as “by Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex” and provided a link to a website. The account has already garnered more than 272,000 followers.

According to reports, American Riviera Orchard will specialise in a wide range of home goods, including cookbooks, food, kitchenware, and tableware. The brand’s trademark application unveiled comprehensive plans, featuring products such as cutlery, decanters, spreads, and napkin rings.

Markle reportedly devoted over a year to developing this project.

The brand’s launch has sparked discussions about potential conflicts with the royal family’s commercial agreements. Some observers suggest that Markle’s business venture could have breached agreements not to profit off her royal title.

However, Markle’s representatives have not commented on these speculations.

Markle’s reentry into lifestyle scene comes after her royal life. Her earlier lifestyle blog, The Tig, closed in 2017 before her marriage to Prince Harry. With the introduction of American Riviera Orchard, she has stepped back in the online lifestyle scene.

The timing of the brand’s launch raised issues since it coincides with events involving other members of the royal family.
